History

The name ‘Bovis’ has been associated with exceptional quality building for over a century. Having completed literally thousands of apartments, town houses, and government developments, we established Bovis Homes Retirement Living in 1986.

1885 Charles William Bovis starts his first company known as CW Bovis & Co., operating as a general builder.

1936 The Bovis School of Building opens, taking on 100 trade apprentices and management trainees.

1972
Bovis Homes becomes the UK’s second largest housebuilder.

1974
Bovis Homes becomes part of the P&O Group.

1986 Bovis Homes Retirement Living was established.

1997 Bovis Homes is a major PLC listed on the FTSE 250 Index. We operate in seven regions across the UK, employing around 900 staff, many of them specialists in their professions.

Today,
Bovis Homes is a member of the FTSE 250 Index and a longstanding member of the FTSE4Good Index. We operate in seven regions across the UK, employing around 900 staff, many of them specialists in their professions.
